  • My NAUI Bio

(Photo Caption: I'm the guy in the middle of these two good looking people! Cheryl Thacker, NAUI Board of Directors, and Ken Sallot, TDI Instructor, were both my Course Directors for Instructor!)

    Hi Everyone!

My name is Ray and I am a NAUI Instructor. My diving career started in 2010 in Miami Beach, Florida where I was born and raised. I was taken in by a local dive shop, Tarpoon Lagoon, and was given the opportunity to advance my skills to Divemaster. Within the four years of being a Divemaster I also became an AAUS Science Diver as well as an intro level Technical Diver. I then began my journey further into the diving world by completing my Instructor Certification.

During my time at The University of Florida I was mentored by Cheryl Thacker who certified me AAUS Scientific Diver as well as a NAUI Instructor. During the process of my Instructor Course I was introduced to Ken Sallot who later certified me Intro to Cave Diver, Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures.

I currently reside in Miami Beach, Florida where I work at Tarpoon Lagoon Dive Center and Deco Divers. Every winter and summer I work with the Ecosystem Field Studies Program in Xpu-ha, Mexico teaching basic science diving techniques and marine ecology.
