In early April of this year, I did my open water dives and received my NAUI certification from David Ochs (NAUI #15918) of Aqua Safari Adventures in South Florida. I am writing to let you know what a great experience it was for me, and to express my appreciation for Dave as a NAUI instructor. Before my training with Dave, I completed my pool and classroom instruction in Westfield, Massachusetts. I feel I received inadequate training there, and as a result had not learned many skills, including octopus air sharing, emergency ascents, regulator recovery, and rescue skills such as panicked diver assist. My instructor in Massachusetts also never took the time to see if I had mastered other basic skills such as mask clearing. So when I began my open water dives with Dave, he had more than the usual amount of ground to cover. Additionally, since I had not mastered many skills in the pool, I was apprehensive and lacked confidence in my ability. In contrast to my instructor in Massachusetts, over the course of two days, Dave both covered all skills in depth and took the time to be certain I mastered each one. His instruction was exceptionally good. I was impressed by the amount of time and energy Dave put into the training process. Before each dive, he took time to thoroughly go over what skills we would be practicing in the water, and after each dive, he took the time to review and critique my performance of the skills. Dave was also an incredibly attentive and patient instructor. He zeroed in on those skills I was weakest in and had me repeat them until I could do them fluidly and confidently. He always answered my questions and addressed my concerns, no matter how small. Beyond all that, and not least important, Dave is a very friendly and good-hearted person! Since my certification, I've done eight additional dives, including two off the Massachusetts shore. I really enjoy diving, feel comfortable in the water, and want to take advanced dive courses. I attribute this to Dave's thorough, high-quality, and always encouraging instruction. I would enthusiastically recommend Dave to any prospective diver, and hope that your agency does the same. I hope that NAUI realizes what a superb instructor they have in Dave Ochs.

I completed my NAUI Scuba Diver certification in October, 1998 under the supervision of David Ochs of Aqua Safari Adventures of Lantana, FL. I am writing to inform you how pleased I was to receive such thorough and comprehensive training from Mr. Ochs. Not only does Mr. Ochs display an encyclopedic knowledge of scuba diving, but he is an excellent teacher and highly professional in the manner that he conducts his classes. I began my training with Mr. Ochs through the NAUI Passport program in June, 1998. I was very nervous at the outset, but after very thorough didactic and pool instruction I found that my first open water dives were quite relaxed. I was so confident in Mr. Ochs' ability to ensure my safety that I was able to completely enjoy my scuba experience. Thus, as soon as I got out of the water, I wanted to dive again. (Incidentally, I dove on my NAUI Passport in Bermuda about a month later and the instructor was very impressed with my level of knowledge.) I completed the NAUI Adventures in Scuba Diving CD-ROM course, and I went back to Florida to continue my didactic training with Mr. Ochs and to complete my NAUI certification. I could've easily completed my training with one of the many reputable NAUI instructors in my area, but I felt the extra time and expense involved in traveling back to Florida were well worth it because of the excellent training I received from Mr. Ochs. Mr. Ochs not only provided me with superior scuba training, but he helped to foster in me a desire to advance my dive training and to dive as often as possible. He is truly a credit to your organization.

I would like to take this opportunity to write and express my complete satisfaction with the diving course I have just completed with Aqua Safari Adventures. This course took place in the Caribbean and was instructive and pleasurable, as well as being a great adventure. Both David Ochs #15918 and his assistant Curtis, were great fun and very correct in their training program. The NAUI course was the highlight of a holiday spent in the British Virgin Islands. I will recommend David Ochs and NAUI to all my friends.

In the folder with my dive log are 14 certification cards. Among other things, they represent the ministrations of nearly a dozen outstanding instructors; they testify to the fact that I have considerable experience working with and learning from dive instructors. The 14th card identifies me as a wreck diver. But more importantly, it identifies my instructor as Dave Ochs, NAUI Instructor #15918. It reminds me that I earned that certification with the best dive instructor I have ever met. With a warm and friendly personality, Dave projects a sense of knowledge and experience with a calm strength. He is attentive to detail without being boring. He challenged me to be the best that I can be without a feeling of pressure. We prepared for each of our dives with care, practicing new skills before entering the water. After each dive, Dave conducted a thorough critique filled with helpful hints on technique, discussion of possible improvements and positive reinforcement for activities well done. In the water, Dave is acutely outwardly focused. He is aware in great detail of all his surroundings -- the performance of his students, water conditions, and the plants and animals. He was able to maintain this breadth of view while capturing in the most intimate detail my interactions with the environment and my equipment. His grasp of the "big picture" made my experience with him enjoyable, secure and relaxed, while his detailed observations of my performance enabled him to give me a wealth of helpful advice. Dave is both a pleasure to know as a person and an asset to have as an instructor.
-- Raymond "Chat" Watts - PADI Master Scuba Diver 7889122

A great Instructor who was not only informative and nice but always put safety first. I not only enjoyed my instruction but am confident that i have acquired all the necessary skills to dive safely.

Aqua Safri Adventures is a credit to the NAUI Worldwide Organization. I would not hesitate to give my personal recommendation of Aqua Safari Adventures to any individual seeking to become a certified scuba diver.

I just wanted to write a quick note to tell how pleasurable an experience it has been to dive with David Ochs of Aqua Safari Adventures. For several years, it has been a desire of mine to become a certified scuba diver. When I moved to South Florida from Boston in July, I decided to finally make that desire a reality. One night I overheard a conversation between several friends who were discussing scuba diving and I asked them where I could get certified. One friend told me that he could give me several places where I could go to get certified, but that he would highly recommend David Ochs of Aqua Safari Adventures. I visited Aqua Safari’s website and agreed with his mission statement and decided to send him an e- mail requesting further information. My friend couldn’t have been more correct in his recommendation of Aqua Safari Adventures. Dave is very serious and professional about his training. Even though I paid for a certain amount of hours in the classroom, pool and open water, Dave always made himself available to stay longer in the classroom for review, to stay longer in the pool to review skills until I was comfortable and to offer additional open water sessions if I felt I needed the extra training. Even though Dave takes his training very seriously, he also made the training sessions enjoyable. Dave is very thorough with his skills explanations, and highly stresses the importance of proper breathing techniques while diving under normal conditions and when performing skills such as regulator recovery skills. Since becoming certified in October 2004, I have been on several dive trips with Dave Ochs and Aqua Safari Adventures including weekend trips to the Keys, night dives off the shores of the Palm Beach area and Lemon Shark Expeditions off the shores of the Palm Beach area. I have enjoyed my diving experience with Aqua Safari Adventures so much, that I intended to go for my Advanced Diver and Nitrox Certifications this spring of 2005 with Aqua Safari Adventures. In closing, Aqua Safari Adventures is a credit to the NAUI World Wide Organization. I would not hesitate to give my personal recommendation of Aqua Safari Adventures to any individual seeking to become a certified scuba diver

Dave was an amazing instructor, paying great attention to all the details of safe and enjoyable diving. My sister and I really enjoyed learning all our diving skills from him and had a great time diving with him.
    -- Matthew

Outstanding- could not have been improved.
    -- Max & Marilyn

I had the pleasure of getting my scuba diving certification with Dave Ochs #15918. Dave was such a good and patient instructor and really cares for his students and scuba diving. My entire family has used Dave and we love him. On a scale of 1 to 10, Dave gets a 10!
    -- Maxie

I did my open water skills dives portion of my course with Aqua Safari Adventures in Palm Beach, FL. The owner, Dave Ochs was my instructor the second day and Karen Kayser was my instructor the first day. I had a great experience with both of them. Both were professional, helpful, and informative throughout the dives. I recommend them fully.
    -- Taylor

I am writing to give you feedback on my recent NAUI Master Scuba Diver training I completed with Aqua Safari Adventures. Dave Ochs #15918 and Karen Kayser #47142 were absolutely wonderful to train with. They were totally professional, courteous, punctual, and dedicated. The training was tough but they made it a lot of fun at the same time. I feel that I am a much safer, more knowledgeable, and overall better diver for completing this class. I have decided to further my training with Aqua Safari Adventures and am in the process of taking the AI/DM class. I have only just begun to read the first few chapters and I thought I should write you and let you know that Dave Ochs is all that you describe a NAUI leader should be and more. I believe in the "loved one" concept you describe in chapter one and that is why dave has training my son at 16 in Rescue Diver, my daughter in Open Water and Advanced Open Water, and myself through Master Scuba Diver. I look forward to continuing my training and eventually becoming a NAUI leader. I have learned a lot from Dave and hope to be the same type of leader that he is. NAUI is fortunate to have Dave Ochs on their team.
